Meet Our Staff

Chad is President and Investment Advisor Representative. He holds CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter), ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant), CASL® (Chartered Advisor for Senior Living), RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional) professional designations. He also holds Series 7, 63, and 65 (for investments), as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses. Chad has been with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 1997, and Vice President since 2007. He and his wife, Lori, have three sons, Zach, Adam and Drew. They are members of Mountain View Mennonite Church, Lyndhurst, where Chad has served on church council, finance committee and as Sunday School teacher. He enjoys all sports, especially golf, baseball and basketball.

J.R. is Vice-President and an Investment Advisor Representative. He has been licensed for life, health, and securities since 1998, and has been a part of the financial services division of Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since November 2004. He is an Investment Advisor Representative with Concourse Financial Group Securities, Inc., and has earned the ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant) and CASL® (Chartered Advisor for Senior Living) RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional) professional designations. He also earned a BBA from the University of Georgia where he played shortstop for the 1990 National Champion “Dawgs” baseball team. J.R. is also an active member in the local Kiwanis organization. He enjoys anything sports related (especially golf), and enjoys hiking and outdoor adventures.

Joel is the Manager for the Property and Casualty Insurance Division. He began his insurance career in 1985 with Old Dominion Insurance Agency, Inc as a Property & Casualty and Life and Health insurance agent. In 1987, he became part owner of Old Dominion Insurance assisting with management functions as well as producing and servicing insurance clients. He earned the Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) designation in 1994 and the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2008. He is a founding member of the Blue Ridge Astronomers, member of the Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce, past board member of the Greater Verona Business Association, Associate Vice President of the Augusta Homebuilders Association, Board Member of the Professional Insurance Agents Association, and member of Erie Experience Task Force

Joel is married with two children. He enjoys amateur astronomy, reading, golf, working on the farm, and toying around in his Corvette that took 50 years to obtain.

Joe is an Investment Advisor Representative and Financial Planner. He holds series 6, 7, 63, and 65 licenses (for investments), and has been licensed for life, health, and long-term care insurance planning since 2005. He holds a ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant) professional designation and has been a part of the financial services division at Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 2011. He has served on the board of the Daily Living Center in Waynesboro, VA and on the finance committee at Staunton Mennonite Church. He enjoys coaching his two boys’ sports teams in Ivy, Virginia and playing tennis, soccer, and skiing with his wife and kids whenever possible.

Stuart is an Insurance Advisor and Benefits Specialist, and holds licenses for Life Insurance, Annuities, and Health Insurance. He can also help you with Long Term Care insurance and planning, Disability Income insurance, and Medicare products. Stuart has extensive knowledge of the health reform changes as a result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. He has been employed with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 2007. He has earned the CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter) and RHU® (Registered Health Underwriter) professional designations. Stu and his wife, Heather, have three young children, two sons and one daughter. Stu enjoys all sports, especially baseball and golf, as well as hunting and fishing when time permits!

Angie and her husband, Todd live in the Crimora/Grottoes area and have two grown, daughters. Angie stays busy with her family–she enjoys cooking, working in her flower beds, listening to music, board games and family vacations.

Angie joined Weaver in 2019 with over twenty years of experience in administrative and financial services. She enjoys working in the health/life and financial division assisting clients, whatever their needs may be.

Becky is a Personal Lines Insurance Agent and holds a Property and Casualty Insurance license. She has been employed with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 2004. She and her husband, Jeff, have four children and attend Waynesboro Mennonite Church.

Liz holds a Property and Casualty Insurance License, is an Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR), and a Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA). She has been in the insurance industry since 1988; she has been with Weaver Insurance & Financial Advisors since 2005. She and her husband, Mark, have two sons and attend Bridge Christian Church.

Derek is native to the Shenandoah Valley, and has been in the insurance field since 2015. He has a strong background in life insurance with investment advising and long term care experience. He has a passion for helping families and business owners protect themselves and their loved ones through proper planning for their current needs and the future.

Derek loves spending time with his friends and family. He married his high school sweetheart and they live happily together in Staunton with their 2 dogs. He enjoys cooking and playing golf. He and his wife are active members at Bridge Christian Church.

Lindsay began her career in the financial services and insurance industry in 2008. She graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. Lindsay holds the Series 7 and Series 66 financial licenses, as well as Life, Health, Property, and Casualty insurance licenses in the State of Virginia.

Lindsay and her husband, Chris, live in Churchville with their three children – Lennon, Cason, and Bowen. She enjoys traveling and assisting with her children’s sports and extracurricular activities.

Carol and her husband live in Churchville, Virginia, and have two grown married children. They love spending time with family, which especially includes their two grandchildren. Carol enjoys anything to do with cooking and baking. She is a Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist Church in Staunton, working with 1st and 2nd grade children.

Tom is a native of the Shenandoah Valley and a proud graduate of the University of Virginia. He joined Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors after a 20-year career in the sporting goods manufacturing industry. He is a Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance agent and works specifically with churches, colleges and universities, schools, camps, missions, and other faith-based organizations.

Tom and his wife, Lindsey, have five children and love going to sporting events (particularly UVA) and unique restaurants (ask him about his Pig-Out List). He and his family are active members of First Baptist Waynesboro.

Maria is a Personal Lines Insurance Agent and holds a Property and Casualty Insurance License, as well as a Life and Annuities Insurance License. Passionate about providing the best insurance solutions for individuals and families.
She loves spending time with her friends and family, as well as traveling and trying out new restaurants, exploring new places, and meeting new people.
Maria is originally from Lima, Peru, and she currently resides in Waynesboro with her two dogs Bruno and Buster.

Kayla grew up in the small town of Crimora, and still resides there with her husband Josh, son Pierce, and their Great Dane Titus. Growing up in a small town where everyone knows everyone, Kayla enjoys personal relationships and is eager to listen to her client’s needs, and provide customized protection for them. Previously, Kayla was a personal lines insurance advisor, and has now transitioned over to the Commercial Department. Much like personal, she is ready to provide personalized coverage and service to her clients, but now specializing in the business insurance aspect. She is a Commercial Lines Account Manager and holds a Property and Casualty Insurance License, as well as a Life and Annuities Insurance License.

I started selling insurance in 2000 as an independent for Miles and Finch in Carmel, Indiana. After a successful seven years as an agent, I relocated to Boulder, Colorado to pursue a career in education and coaching. After our two children were born, my wife Jessica and I gravitated to the Valley to be closer to family. We have enjoyed raising our kids here, and my investment in helping people led me out of the classroom and back to insurance with Weaver. My favorite part about being an agent is building relationships with clients and figuring out the unique coverage each individual needs.

Kim is a lifetime resident of Augusta County, a native of Stuarts Draft. Kim started her insurance career at Augusta Insurance Agency in 1998. She’s had her Property & Casualty license for over 20 years. Kim also holds the CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation since 2009 and her CISR (Certified Insurance Service Counselor) designation since 2001.

Kim currently lives in Stuarts Draft with her husband (Matt). They have one daughter, who also lives in Stuarts Draft. They enjoy spending their spare time in the mountains of West Virginia.

Zach joined Weaver in the beginning of 2023 and is currently an Investment Advisor Representative. He holds series 7, 63, and 66 licenses (for investments), along with a ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant) professional designation. Zach graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Zach is the son of Chad and Lori Hatter, along with his two younger brothers, Adam and Drew. He is also married to his beautiful wife Emily. They currently live in a townhouse in Crozet with their cat, Milo. Zach enjoys spending time with family, playing games, and watching basketball and football, most notably the Boston Celtics and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kendall grew up in the area, and graduated from Stuarts Draft High School. Having been in customer service for the last 25 years, she is now studying for her P&C License and enjoying her family time. She resides in Fishersville with her husband, two children, two dogs and three cats. Taking care of people is her ultimate goal and she strives to make your experience with Weaver and exceptional one!

Seth began his career in the financial services industry in 2003, working a fulfilling career with local and community based financial institutions. He graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Computer Information Systems. In addition, Seth graduated from Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management held at the University of Virginia as well as the American Bankers Association Graduate School of Banking held at Penn University.

An Idaho native, Seth and his growing family reside in Waynesboro. He proudly serves multiple committee assignments with Augusta Health and is an active board member for the American Frontier Culture Foundation. His most enjoyable pastimes are golfing, hunting and woodworking.

Tori and her husband, Matt moved to the Valley in 2016 from Pennsylvania. They now reside in Weyers Cave with their 2 boys Luke and Ethan. Most evenings they can be found at the baseball field where Tori is also an active board member of Grottoes Little League. She enjoys spending time and traveling with her family. She currently holds a Property & Casualty License and is excited about her new adventure here at Weaver Insurance.

Alyssa is originally from Long Island, NY and relocated to the Valley in 2023. Prior to joining Weaver she worked at an insurance company as an Underwriter. She has her Property & Casualty license and holds the CPCU (Charted Property Casualty Underwriter) designation. Alyssa graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a degree in Math, Business, and Finance (Actuarial Science). Alyssa currently lives in Charlottesville and in her free time you can find her exploring local hiking trails or visiting nearby coffee shops.
