Meet the Staff
Brent R. ShowalterPresident Brent R. Showalter is President of Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors, and holds licenses for Property and Casualty Insurance, Life, and Health Insurance. Brent graduated in 1984 from James Madison University with a degree in Business and has worked full-time with the company since that time. He also gained experience by spending summers working part-time for the company while attending school. Brent's father, Leonard Showalter, joined Ralph Weaver in 1960 to form Weaver Insurance Agency, Inc. Brent is married to Melissa, who also works for Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors. They attend Jollivue United Methodist Church, Staunton.

Jerry A. ZirkleBusiness/Church Insurance Jerry A. Zirkle is Vice-President of Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors. He holds licenses for Property and Casualty Insurance and Life and Health Insurance. Jerry graduated from James Madison University in 1975 with a degree in Business Administration and was employed in office administration for 14 years prior to his current position. Jerry has been with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 1988. He and his wife, Janna, have two grown daughters, Jill and Joy. Jerry and Janna are members of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church.

Chad HatterFinancial Services & Investments Chad Hatter is Vice-President and Investment Advisor Representative. He holds CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), and CASL (Chartered Advisor for Senior Living) professional designations. He also holds Series 7, 63, and 65 (for investments), as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses. Chad has been with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 1997. He and his wife, Lori, have three boys, Zach, Adam and Drew. They are members of Mountain View Mennonite Church, Lyndhurst, where Chad has served on church council, finance committee and as Sunday School teacher. He enjoys all sports, especially golf, baseball and basketball.

Melissa ShowalterAuto/Home Insurance Melissa Showalter is a Personal Lines Insurance Agent and holds a Property and Casualty Insurance License. She has been in the insurance business since 1990, and has been employed with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 1994. She is married to Brent, and they attend Jollivue Methodist Church.

David MiningerAuto/Home Insurance David Mininger will be glad to help you with any of your individual insurance needs. He holds licenses for Property and Casualty Insurance and Life Insurance and works in our Waynesboro office. He is a long term employee having 23 years of insurance experience; 22 of those years with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors. Dave and his wife, Marian, have two sons and six grandchildren. They are members of Springdale Mennonite Church in Waynesboro.

Virginia C. ThomasCustomer Service Virginia C. Thomas works in Customer Service and will be glad to welcome you in our Waynesboro office. She has been with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 1973. Virginia has four grown children and six grandchildren, which she enjoys immensely. She attends First Baptist Church, Waynesboro.

Amelia FauberBusiness/Church Insurance Amelia F. Fauber is a Commercial Insurance Advisor and holds CPIW (Certified Professional Insurance Woman) and Property and Casualty Insurance Licenses. Amelia has 33 years experience and has been with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors for 23 years; she will be glad to work with you in our Waynesboro office. Amelia is married to Sam Fauber and has two daughters and five wonderful grandchildren. Amelia is a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

Liz SheetsAuto/Home Insurance Liz Sheets holds a Property and Casualty Insurance License and is an Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR). She has been in the insurance industry since 1988; she has been with Weaver Insurance & Financial Advisors since 2005. She and her husband, Mark, have two boys and attend Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, Verona.

Linda WhiteBusiness/Church Insurance Linda M. White works in our Commercial Lines department. She holds a Property and Casualty license and has been in the insurance industry since 1968, and has been employed with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 1991. She is married and has two grown sons and three grandchildren. She is a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

Janna ZirkleBusiness/Church Insurance Janna Zirkle holds a license for Property and Casualty Insurance and works in our Commercial Lines Department. She is married to Jerry Zirkle and they have two grown daughters. Jerry and Janna are members of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church.

J.R. ShowalterFinancial Services & Investments J.R. Showalter has been life, health, and securities licensed since 1998, and has been a part of the financial services division of Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since November 2004. He is an Investment Advisor Representative with ProEquities, Inc., and works in our Stuarts Draft office. He earned a BBA from the University of Georgia where he played shortstop for the 1990 National Champion "Dawgs" baseball team. His wife, Margee, and two sons, Zach and Chandler, live in Waynesboro, Virginia where they attend Springdale Mennonite Church.

Stuart D. HatterLife/Health/LTC Stuart D. Hatter is an Insurance Advisor in our Stuarts Draft office, and holds licenses for Life Insurance, Annuities, and Health Insurance. He can also help you with long term care insurance, disability insurance and Medicare products. He has been employed with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 2007. Stu and his wife, Heather, have two young sons and attend Mountain View Mennonite Church, Lyndhurst.

Debbie has been with Weaver Insurance and Financial Advisors since 1993, and has experience in insurance since 1984.She is widowed with two grown children. Jason OpstadFinancial Analysis Assistant Jason was born and raised in Waynesboro, Virginia. He graduated from Wilson Memorial High School and attended the University of Mary Washington where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Jason currently assists with financial analysis in the Financial Services department. He is a recipient of the Eagle Scout rank and a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.

Gayle WeaverAdministrative Assistant Gayle has lived in Stuarts Draft all her life. She previously worked in the Augusta County school system and as co-owner of The Cheese Shop, Inc. She has also earned an Associate Business degree from Blue Ridge Community College. Gayle and her husband, Maynard, have two grown children, one daughter and one son who is married; they are active members of Stuarts Draft Mennonite Church. Gayle will be glad to assist you anytime you call or visit the office.
